Integrative Psychiatry
in Louisiana & Arizona
—Board-Certified Adult and Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, seeing patients in-person in the New Orleans area and via telehealth across Louisiana and Arizona.
Dr. Antoinette Laurel, DO, MBA
Meet Dr. Laurel
I am a psychiatrist offering highly personalized care as a solo practitioner treating patients in Louisiana and Arizona.
With double board certification in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, I have developed a deep understanding of mental health across all stages of life. I feel confident and at ease working with patients of all ages—whether it is supporting a young child, guiding a teenager through a challenging time, or helping an adult navigate life’s complexities.
I bring a unique approach to psychiatric treatment, shaped by my background as a former yoga instructor, education in integrative psychiatry, & own pursuit of a well-balanced life. I work collaboratively with each patient to understand their unique biological, psychological, and social dimensions, and to craft thoughtful, evidence-based treatment plans. These may include a wide range of options—such as medications, supplements, lab testing, nutrition, lifestyle modifications, sleep hygiene, and mindfulness practices. When appropriate, I often begin with non-medication strategies. My holistic approach honors both conventional and complementary healing practices, offering a balanced path to mental wellness.
As someone deeply connected to both Arizona and Louisiana, it is a privilege to support mental wellness in the communities that have shaped me.

Patient Testimonials
"Dr. Laurel is exceptional! She has been with me since the beginning of my mental health journey that has taken many ups and downs over the last year. It’s easy to get discouraged in this process, but Dr. Laurel was there at every turn, encouraging me and finding the right solution that worked for me. She’s always made me feel empowered and has entertained every question I threw her way. Her approach is refreshing to see!"

"Dr. Laurel is very patient and helpful. She offers me tips beyond medication. She’s very mindful about prescribing medications, and sees if there are other solutions outside of medication first beforehand. I really appreciate this, because it feels like she’s genuine about helping me and not covering up my problems with pills."

"My experience with Dr. Laurel was phenomenal. As an international student, I have recently learned that navigating the US healthcare system for ADHD treatment is a nightmare, both financially and logistically. On top of that, many doctors are reluctant or dismissive about ADHD diagnoses and treatment. In the past, I have often felt like I am not being listened to. At times, other providers have even made me feel like I am being interrogated. With all these factors/stressors, I had nearly given up on seeking treatment in the US.
My experience with Dr. Laurel was so wonderful and refreshing. I didn't feel like I was being rushed through the appointment. I felt like she really, truly listened to my concerns, and she asked many specific and relevant questions which made me feel like she was putting actual effort into creating a plan that worked for my specific needs.
The system is still a nightmare to navigate, but I so appreciate Dr. Laurel being so helpful with the aspects she had control over. The US healthcare system could do with more providers like her."
—
"Dr. Laurel is very attentive to my child’s needs and shows high professional standard in her sessions with teenager. She is very cooperative with parent as well. We are very pleased so far. Gladly would recommend her services."
—
"Dr. Laurel has been such a good listener. She is caring and seems invested in your actual well being. I’m grateful to have found her."
